THE FOUR SPIRITUAL LAWS

God, Jesus Christ and YOU.

Do you know God loves YOU and has a wonderful plan for YOU?
Do you know Jesus Christ died for YOU so you can share in God’s plan?

For many years, Campus Crusade for Christ has published a little booklet called “The Four Spiritual Laws.” It is a very simple illustration of what the human situation is, what God’s plan has always been for us, and how Jesus Christ made that plan possible.

No matter who you are, what you have believed in the past, or what your life has been like, you can have complete assurance that you are accepted by God and that you can have a beautiful life with Him for eternity. You can have peace in this troubled world and the joy of knowing God has prepared a very special future for you.

Read through the Laws below.

Law #1. God loves you and has a wonderful plan for your life.

The Bible, God’s written word to us, says,
“For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.”
(John 3:16)

God’s plan from the beginning of eternity has always been to have us, you and me, walk and talk with Him as Adam did in the Garden of Eden. He has wanted us close with Him. He has wanted to give every possible good gift to us and to have us love Him as He has loved us. He has wanted to give us an eternal life of peace and joy.

Law #2. Man is sinful and separated from God. Therefore, he cannot know and experience God’s love and plan for his life.

Man is sinful.
“All have sinned and come short of the glory of God.”
(Romans 3:23)

Man is separated from God.
“The wages of sin is death.”
Romans 6:23)

God’s plan for us is that we should experience Hid love and closeness and that we should be peaceful with Him forever. However, because all mankind fell into sin and became separated from God, we are not able to experience that wonderful life He has for us. Our fellowship with God was broken. Whether you and I willfully decide to live in sin and apart from God, or whether we just make normal, human mistakes and have caused that separation without realizing it, we have lost that closeness with God and the joy of His plan for us. Our efforts on this earth of trying to live a “good life,” (going to church, helping the poor, not stealing, etc.) cannot bridge the gap we have from Him because it cannot erase that in-born sin we all have in us. The only penalty for our sin is death – complete separation from God forever.

Law #3. Jesus Christ is God’s ONLY provision for man’s sin. Through Jesus, you can know and experience God’s love and plan for your life.

Jesus died for us.
“God demonstrated His love for us in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”
(Romans 5:8)

Jesus died – but then rose from the grave.
“Christ died for our sins. He was buried. He was raised on the third day, according to the Scriptures. He appeared to Peter, then to the twelve. After that He appeared to more than five hundred.”
(1 Corinthians 15:3-6)

Jesus is the ONLY way to God.
“Jesus said, ‘I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no-one comes to the Father, but through Me.’”
(John 14:6)

Our sins, big or little, have caused a separation between us and God, and the penalty for those sins is death – eternal separation from God. The only bridge between us and God is the one created by Jesus when He died and paid the penalty for our sins. Only by accepting that payment on our behalf can we come across that bridge and take our place with God.

Law #4. We must individually receive Jesus Christ as our Savior and Lord; then we can know and experience God’s love and plan for our lives.

We must believe and receive Jesus Christ.
“As many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name.”
(John 1:12)

We must receive Jesus Christ through faith.
“By grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God, not as a result of works, that no-one should boast.”
(Ephesians 2: 8,9)

When we receive Christ, we experience a New Birth.
“Now there was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a member of the Jewish ruling council. He came to Jesus at night and said, "Rabbi, we know you are a teacher who has come from God. For no one could perform the miraculous signs you are doing if God were not with him." In reply Jesus declared, "I tell you the truth, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again.” "How can a man be born when he is old?" Nicodemus asked. "Surely he cannot enter a second time into his mother's womb to be born!" Jesus answered, "I tell you the truth, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit. Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit. You should not be surprised at my saying, 'You must be born again.' The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit."
John 3:1-8)

We receive Christ by personal invitation.
“Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him.”
(Revelation 3:20)

More than just believing Jesus and what He did for us, we must each personally accept that gift of forgiveness and ask Him to be our Savior and Lord. It is not just an emotional experience, but a true, heart-felt recognition and confession that we are sinners and separated from God and an acceptance that Jesus is the only way to the Father, God. Without Christ, our only future is death and eternal separation from God. No-one else can do this for you – not your parents, not your priest or minister, not your friend. ONLY YOU can make this most important life decision and take the step necessary to be saved from an empty life and a frightening eternity.

You can receive Jesus Christ as your Savior right now and be assured that your eternity will be with God, not separated from Him. Jesus Christ’s death and payment will erase your past and all your failures and sins as far as God is concerned and will give you a salvation for a wonderful future. God will see you as having been completely cleansed by the sacrifice paid by His Son, Jesus Christ. All you have to do is pray a prayer like the following:

“Lord, Jesus, I need you and want you as my Savior. I admit that I am a sinner and that except through Your gift of paying the price for my sins, I could never be with You and God, the Father. I thank you for dying on the cross for my sins. I do open that door to you and ask you to be my Savior and Lord. Thank you for forgiving my sins and giving me the gift of eternal life. Please take complete control of my life and make me the person you want me to be.”

If you just prayed that prayer, you can be assured that you are now a new child of God – that Jesus Christ has paid every penalty for your past, and that you will be with Him and the Father forever.

Look at these verses for just a few examples of the assurance God gives in His Word, The Bible:

"Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God's wrath remains on him."
(John 3:36).

"I tell you the truth, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be condemned, he has crossed over from death to life."
(John 5:24.

"And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life and this life is in his Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life."
(1 John 5:11-13).

“There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.”
Romans 8:1-4)

If you would care to write to me, I will pray with and for you and will direct you to where you can find any information you may need to grow with Him. Just use the “E-mail Us” button to the left of this page and send me any message.
I WILL respond to you.

God bless you in your journey with Him.
